Nippon Express is a Japanese logistics company that provides road and rail transport, air and sea freight forwarding, and warehousing services. The majority of Nippon’s income (approximately 65%) comes from Japan. However, they have a presence in 46 countries outside of Japan, in Europe, the Americas, Africa and elsewhere in Asia.
OVERALL POLICY AND GOALS
The Nippon Express Group is working towards obtaining the ISO 14001 certification. They have also established an Environmental Management Promotion Committee to create a cross-organizational framework for promoting environmental management throughout the Group.
The company has long-term targets for 2030 in place:
- Reduce CO2 by 30% versus the FY2013 level by FY2030
- Annually reduce industrial waste emissions by 1% versus the previous year (in relation to sales)
- Ensure all facilities (100%) are lit by LED by FY2030
